Dear Wine Lover,
Summer is in the home stretch, but there are still plenty of
beautiful days left to enjoy, and today we have a new selection of
wines to help. Click here to see our Latest Featured Selection.
Today's selection includes a number of Italian wines, but also
features several French and New World offerings, as well.
Italy:
- The two reds featured today are the popular Rosso dello Sparviero from Chianti, and a new Montefalco Rosso from Pievano. Both are medium-bodied
red blends that can be enjoyed with pizza, pasta or whatever you
decide to grill.
- San Osvaldo Pinot Grigio is one of our most
popular whites, and a fantastic summer wine. Full of flavor, this
crisp, refreshing wine can be enjoyed as an aperitif, or with a
variety of summer fare.
- Servo Suo is our new prestige Prosecco from Col
Saliz. It offers a fine mousse, complex fruit and a rich mouthfeel;
enjoy it as an aperitif or with fruit desserts.
France:
Today, our French selection highlights two fantastic wines from
Bordeaux.
- Château Clarke quickly became one of our
most popular red Bordeaux. This Listrac-Médoc sells out
almost as quickly as we import it. Today's 2004 vintage is drinking
well now, and will develop for years to come. It can be
enjoyed with hearty red meat dishes from the grill or the
oven.
- For a light, refreshing wine that is enjoyable on its own or
with a variety of foods, try Château la Moulinière's Bordeaux
rosé. This is an extremely versatile and enjoyable wine,
and only $11!
New World:
- Andes Terra produces a variety of pleasant, everyday reds at
exceptional prices. Its Curico Valley Merlot is a great example that can be
enjoyed all year with a variety of foods.
- Late last year we received Courier, our special Dry Creek Valley cuvee. Since
then, we have enjoyed watching it evolve. This special wine is big,
dense and complex. It is drinking well now, and will continue to
develop.
- For a well-balanced white with ripe fruit flavors and crisp
acidity, try Peel Estate's Premium White. This Chenin
Blanc/Sauvignon Blanc blend offers balance and wonderful flavor,
making it an excellent aperitif or accompaniment to a variety of
summer dishes.
