Spectacular scenery, exceptional company
Sail the remote coast of Chile with one of America's leading
naturalists
and Orvis's own Tom Rosenbauer.
This is a
unique opportunity to travel South America's most scenic coast-a land of unique
temperate rainforest, towering peaks, and secluded bays. This
exclusive Orvis cruise is hosted by one of America's leading
natural history writers, Peter Matthiessen, and Orvis fly fishing
expert Tom Rosenbauer. Our ship is designed for
expeditions in these remote waters, but equipped for luxurious
travel. Equipped with jet boats, kayaks, and a helicopter for
remote fly-in fishing, this small ship is the best way to
experience the mountainous Patagonia coastline and is
custom-designed for exploration and comfort. A marine biologist and
zoologist guides expeditions aboard the ship's seagoing Zodiac to
watch for the blue whales that come to feed in the Boca Del Guafo
during the Austral summer. A crew of expert fly-fishing guides, a
top chef, sommelier, and masseuse are also on board. With only 14
cabins, this is worlds apart from a cruise ship experience.

"I've never seen an operation with the organization and
infrastructure like Nomads of the Seas. Every detail is attended to
with perfection, with a smile, and the staff on this trip makes you
feel like you are the most important person in their world. Not to
mention the excitement of waking up in a new fjord in the morning
and the anticipation of taking the helicopter into new and exotic
fishing spots!" -Tom Rosenbauer
Author and fly-fishing expert Tom Rosenbauer recently traveled on
the M.V. Atmosphere.

The Experience:
Blue whales and brown trout are not usually part of the same
itinerary, but in this remote region they can be. Pristine streams
flow down to the sea from forested mountains on the mainland, and
provide exceptional fishing in an unspoiled, uninhabited
wilderness. Rainforest and mountain, rivers and lakes-all are
accessible via helicopter. Every day guests can hike or fish in a
different environment. Fly fishers can expect to catch several
rainbows and brown trout in the 16"-22" range.

"Just a brief note to express our gratitude for just the
greatest trip we have ever been on. Jean and I had a marvelous
time, start to finish. The quality of the Orvis Company was shown
to us in the folks it employs; I have never been around a group of
people that was any better. Jean summed it all up I thought when
she told me that she would be happy to host any Orvis person in her
own home, and believe me, she is very picky!"
