Redoro Extra Virgin Olive Oils:
A Family Tradition for 300 Years |
 |

For 300 years
the Salvagno family has been growing, harvesting, and pressing
olives. This tradition and a devotion to the soil has been handed
down from father to son for generations. Today, the same care,
pride and passion still goes into every bottle.
The Redoro farm estate is located north of Verona in Grezzana, a
green valley covered by olive groves.
The olives are
hand-picked at just the right degree of ripeness and are
cold-pressed using stone olive mills the same day. This traditional
method maintains the natural qualities of extra virgin olive oil
without altering its nutritional and natural benefits. The limited
production from select mature olives yields a sumptuous,
well-rounded rich flavor.
We offer two of Redoro's superb Extra Virgin Olive
Oils:
Redoro Integrale is a
sweet, full-bodied and fragrant Extra Virgin Olive Oil of the
highest quality with an intense golden-green color and enticing
fragrance.
Redoro Nostano has a
delicately fragrant and fruity perfume with a lingering finish
reminiscent of almonds. Its color is a golden greenish-yellow.

Fresh Pawpaws Available Now!
(But the Season Ends Soon) |
 |
|
It's been a great year
for fresh pawpaws...
but the season is almost over.
This year, we've shipped more pawpaws than ever before and there is
still a week to go before the season ends. If you haven't placed
your order yet, please don't wait any longer.
Order by 6 AM EST, Wednesday, September 24, and you
can still try this wonderful native fruit that has rightly earned
its place in North American folklore.
Fully ripe pawpaws last only a few days at room temperature, but
may be kept for a week in the refrigerator. Allow fruit to finish
ripening at room temperature before eating. Never eat the skin or
seeds.

Deliciously Different, Food Friendly
All Natural Wild Fennel Pollen |
 |
|
It might sound unusual, but wild fennel pollen is just that - the
pollen collected from wild-growing California fennel. Wild fennel
pollen is distinctly different from common fennel seed. The flavor
is more subtle and delicately nuanced and lends itself to
everything from baked goods to barbecue to pan-seared seafood.
Professional chefs have
known about this fabulous seasoning for years, but until now, it's
been prohibitively expensive for use at home. At last, it's finally
available at a price that just about anyone can afford.
Try it once and you'll
never want to do without it again.

Looking Ahead:
Fresh Chestnuts - Coming Soon! |
 |

Fall will be here soon
and with it, fresh chestnuts.
For the past few years, we've been fortunate to be able to offer
top quality, fresh chestnuts produced by our good friends at
Chestnut Growers, Inc. (CGI), a cooperative of Midwestern
chestnut farmers who grow, harvest and process their own
chestnuts.
The groves of towering American chestnuts that once dominated the
Eastern woodland were nearly wiped out a century ago by a
devastating blight. Fortunately, dedicated growers and researchers
have patiently cultivated the disease-resistant, productive strains
of chestnuts that we enjoy today.
Each year, interest in fresh, sweet American-grown chestnuts
continues to grow and this year promises to be one of the most
productive yet. We expect to have fresh chestnuts available
for purchase by mid-October, so stay tuned!
If you just can't wait for fresh chestnuts, try some of our peeled, ready-to-use frozen
chestnuts. Frozen chestnuts are available year round, and make
the preparation of your favorite chestnut recipes a snap.
