Ask Lydia
Dear Lydia,
I am a 43 years young, very petite woman and I love to wear heels. Can you advise me on what is a reasonable and age-appropriate heel height?
-Sharon, Minnesota

Dear Age-appropriate Angst,
You raise a great issue! While a 4" or even 5" heel may work for a 20-something, someone 43 years young may want to stay around or below the 3" heel mark. That being said, check out the Suzanne by Mudd. The 1 ½" plaid and patent wedge heel is right on trend and packs enough height to make you feel sexy and flatter your figure.

Dear Lydia,
I work in an office that requires wearing nice dress shoes, but I have trouble finding styles to fit my wide feet. Can you recommend heels and boots that are dressy, stylish and available in wide width?
-Joan, Rhode Island

Dear Searching Far and Wide For Wide,
Your search starts and stops here. We have several dressy, stylish, wide width shoes for you to work with. Try the Shaw by LifeStride pump with a dress or slacks for office splendor. The Nickels Rogue boot radiates style and works well with a pair of classic dress trousers.

Shop all women's wide widths.

Shoe Horoscope
Libra: Sept. 23-Oct. 22
LibraLibra's appreciation for the arts and all things beautiful is quite impressive. But admit it: It's much more fun to be admired for those shimmery, sexy shoes. You're a good flirt and quick to compliment other people's shoes, too-especially if you're trying to talk them into something. You want to do what's best for everyone, but don't forget to take care of yourself-your love of luxury and creature comforts may lead to indulge in rich food. Get off that couch and lace up your trainers!

The stars are pointing Libra toward these styles:
Evening... your sunny optimism isn't dimmed at night

Boutique... eye-catching details are very, very good

Flats... a great shoe for lazy moods

Sneakers... off the couch and hit the shopping district!

These Boots Are Made For Walkin'
Kick up your boots, we've got a little bit of a boot tale to tell ya: Pop song "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'" was composed by Lee Hazlewood and first recorded by Nancy Sinatra. Released in February 1966, the song was a total hit and reached #1 on the United States and United Kingdom Pop charts. Interestingly enough, U.S. troops in the Vietnam War found the song a fitting tune to march to and so they did-looks like Nancy's tune rang true. Sinatra packed her bags and traveled to Vietnam to perform for the U.S. soldiers and gave them a chance to kick up their boots and enjoy some legendary music.

We have a stunning selection of boots that are made for walkin', struttin', strollin' and stylin'. Shop the women's boot shop.
